Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah’s political secretary Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said that pensioners, too, will receive RM250 as Raya bonus.

Shaiful added the payout, which would be credited together with this month’s salary, would cost the state government some RM4 million.

He said this to reporters outside the Penang Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) here today.

Earlier, Bashah had chaired a state executive council meeting at the hospital, where he had undergone surgery following a problem related to his intestines recently.

Meanwhile, Shaiful said his boss was a “picture of happiness and good health”, and his condition is expected to improve.

“Doctors have advised him against having a press conference, so he conveys his apologies,” Shaiful added.
