PETALING JAYA: Independent candidate for Kuala Kangsar Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary elicited boos from a crowd at forum in Kuala Kangsar yesterday, reported The Star Online.
This was when he was invited on stage to sign the Citizens’ Declaration, with former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad in attendance, but he used the opportunity to campaign for himself instead.
“I have come with great difficulty and without any support whatsoever. I will fight for you! Support me!” he reportedly yelled, drawing boos from the crowd.
It is worth noting that Izat Bukhary recently caused a stir when he declared he was running because Kuala Kangsar “should not have a female MP.
