This was determined after a motion put forth by PAS Muslimat, urging for a review of the cooperation between both parties, was passed without debate at today’s muktamar.
“PAS Muslimat, together with Baling PAS , has asked that the Syura Council review our relationship with PKR on several recurring matters, and to review if there are still any gains or benefit to Islam and PAS.”
Nasrudin, who is also PAS Information chief, said the Syura Council will decide if there was indeed any benefit and that the council had the right to decide.
Yesterday, Berita Harian reported that the PAS Muslimat muktamar passed the motion on the review of political cooperation with PKR, specifically with regards to the upcoming two by-elections.
According to the report, the motion was passed without debate and would be handed over to the party’s Ulama Syura Council, and this has now been confirmed by Nasrudin.
At the muktamar, some delegates approached by FMT, said they would have preferred a debate on the motion, but overall trusted the Syura Council to make the right decision.
Maran delegate Hasenan Haron said it would be good if there was a debate, but understood why there was none as it was a sensitive issue.
“This is a sensitive issue and sometimes delegates can get emotional if they were to start debating the matter,” he said, adding however he was confident that the Syura Council would make the best decision.
Jasin delegate Suhaimi Harun said that there should have been a debate on the matter as delegates should be given a chance to air their views.
Kubang Pasu delegate Mohd Ghazali Mohd Zain said there was no need for a debate as the Syura Council would make a decision based on PAS’ principles.
