State Gerakan Acting Youth Chief Jason Loo threw the gauntlet down for State Works Committee Chairman Lim Hock Seng to discuss the matter in public.
Loo chided Lim for warning he would “take action” against those who made further statements on the feasibility study cost.
“Wow, what action does the DAP-led state government want to take?
“I challenge Lim to state which law allows him to take action against constructive check and balance?
“If he does not understand democracy, he should shut up and do his homework and answer accordingly,” he said at a press conference today.
Loo said the debate, tentatively titled “Undersea tunnel issue and democracy”, would take place at Dewan Sri Pinang, George Town, on June 11 at 2pm.
Yesterday, Lim gave a detailed breakdown of the costs for the feasibility study and designs for the undersea tunnel and three main roads’ project.
This clarification came after queries from Penang Gerakan, which had pointed out the contradictory statements by the government on the pay-out for the projects.
