He said the state government had submitted a proposal to build the hospital near Tronoh but the matter was still being reviewed by the university.
“We need to make a re-evalution as the location is quite far from the town centre. We are also concerned this will result in shortage of patients.
“This teaching hospital will at the same time be made into a private hospital,” he told reporters after visiting Kuala Kangsar Hospital here today.
Mara would also ensure that the 200-bedded hospital was able to provide clinical placements for medical students at the university, he added.
“We hope with the cooperation of the state government, the construction of this hospital will be expedited and the project be given high priority though no allocation has been made for the project under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP)” he said.
