They are Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP) president SM Mohamed Idris, Penang Forum member Dr Lim Mah Hui and Aliran member Anil Netto.
Aside from them, three Umno representatives were also included in the list, namely state opposition leader Jahara Hamid, Teluk Bahang assemblyman Shah Headan Ayoob Hussain Shah and Bayan Lepas assemblyman Noordin Ahmad.
They were among 24 new members inducted into the council today.
According to Guan Eng, the induction of the new members were to ensure all stakeholders were involved.
“We are willing to listen to strong views based on facts,” Guan Eng said.
The 46-member council is co-chaired by state executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow and Lim Hock Seng.
Other notable appointees include DAP’s Tanjong Bungah assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu and the “PKR 5” group of assemblymen, namely Ong Chin Wen (Bukit Tengah), Dr Norlela Ariffin (Penanti), Dr T Jayabalan (Batu Uban), Cheah Kah Peng (Kebun Bunga) and Lee Khai Loon (Machang Bubok).
The new appointees will be part of the council until Sept 30, 2017.
Meanwhile, CAP research officer S Mageswari said she would make a formal announcement if CAP accepts the invitation made to its president, adding that it would depend on the terms of reference related to the council.
