Ramasamy, who is state FOI chair, also said claims by Penang Gerakan Acting Youth Chief Jason Loo that the process of obtaining the documents was time consuming were probably exaggerated.
“This is a figment of his (Loo’s) imagination. We do not condone delays,” he told FMT.
“The SD is not a blanket requirement for all documents applied, like I have said before.
“Let me put this to Loo: Why don’t you write to me directly?”
Earlier today, Loo had said applying for documents under the FOI was tedious and troublesome.
On the same topic, Ramasamy asked Loo if he dared to ask other Barisan Nasional-controlled states to introduce FOI enactments.
Ramasamy said Loo appeared to be not interested in FOI, but merely giving bad publicity to the Pakatan Harapan government.
“It appears he is all out for cheap publicity. Anyhow, I hope to hear from him on his queries.”
