KANGAR:
A RM1 million electronic scoreboard at an aquatic facility here came down during a thunderstorm this evening.

In the 5pm incident, the scoreboard came down at the Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex during heavy rain which began at 3pm, Harian Metro reported.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

Harian Metro also reported damage to the canvass roofing near the scoreboard during the incident.

The last time the scoreboard was used was during the Malaysia Games two years ago.

Perlis Sports Council officials confirmed the incident but declined to elaborate further.
