State FAC chairman Zainal Abidin Osman said the projects were part of a RM4.6 billion allocation for the state under the 11th Malaysia Plan (2016-2020).
“As of May 16, we have already spent RM152 million on implementing projects under the First Rolling Plan (2016-2017).
“Penang has the highest number of projects in terms of implementation to date,” he said at a press conference here today.
Zainal also gave an idea of the goodies expected for Penang. It will see upgrades in logistics, roads, health, sewerage treatment and affordable homes.
He said RM2.2 billion to improve logistics and road infrastructure would be completed by 2017, through nine projects.
Health infrastructure is also expected to be improved through RM520 million in upgrades for the Penang Hospital and Seberang Jaya Hospital.
As for facilities to treat waste water, RM1.77 billion had been allocated to build sewerage pipelines and facilities.
Cluster village (kampung tersusun) projects worth RM125 million are also in the pipeline.
