This clarification was made by AirAsia Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer Aireen Omar, Star Online reported.
Aireen said allegations made by Tourism Malaysia Chairman Wee Choo Keong that the airline owed a huge amount to MAHB were untrue.
“We deem these latest statements by Wee as intended to further injure the reputation of AirAsia, which are now already a subject to a defamation litigation,” she was quoted as saying.
Wee has denied scolding his staff at the 4th China (Beijing) International Tourism Expo 2016 after seeing an AirAsia bunting put up alongside other promotional material at the Tourism Malaysia booth.
He also denied tearing up the AirAsia bunting and said he had only asked the staff to move it to the back as it was blocking the Tourism Malaysia promotions.
Aireen suggested Wee concentrate on his work to promote tourism instead of attacking a public-listed company that had done much to bring tourists to Malaysia.
