The minute-long video, which was first uploaded on Facebook by local radio station LiteFM, has already been shared over 3,000 times and has gathered over 500 comments on the social networking site.
In the clip, eight firemen are seen attending to mundane errands before the song ‘My Boo’ starts playing, after which they instantaneously break into dance, with variations of the ‘running man’ and several other dance moves attempted by the good sports.
The video has been well received by netizens, with most of them saying the firemen deserved the much-needed break.
“Keep it up guys… You all deserve some fun,” Facebook user Rose Rahman commented.
“When your job is supposed to set off fire but you set fire on the dance floor,” another netizen, identified as ‘Ro Hit’ quipped.
Another Facebook user, Rozana Isa said the video made her appreciate the Fire and Rescue department officers even more.
“I’ve always thought that Malaysia’s Bomba is the best amongst the uniformed lot and I still stand by it,” she said.
The ‘Running Man Challenge’ is a dance challenge where people do variations of the ‘running man’ to a ‘90s hit song called ‘My Boo’ by Ghost Town DJ’s.
The challenge is the newest social media dance craze that has been spreading across Facebook and Instagram over the past month.
Previous dance-related crazes included ‘the dab’, ‘the nae nae’ and the ‘Harlem Shake’.
