“The police will call this particular individual if they need him to facilitate investigations,” Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister, said in a written reply to Sim Tze Tzin (PKR-Bayan Baru).
Sim had asked if the police had interviewed Low, better known as Jho Low, and if the men in blue were aware of his whereabouts.
Police, via Bukit Aman’s Commercial Crime Department, are currently investigating 1MDB for criminal breach of trust.
Jho Low has been in the spotlight over alleged links to the controversy-plagued state investment arm.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had last December recorded Jho Low’s statement abroad on 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion political donation that was banked into Prime Minister Najib Razak’s personal accounts.
