PETALING JAYA:
The body in the boot of a BMW retrieved from a mining pool in Puchong on Sunday has been identified as that of despatch clerk Saravanan Gopal.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Saravanan, who is an employee of business newspaper The Malaysian Reserve, was reported missing after leaving his home in Taman Desa in the evening of May 2.

He is married with two children, aged five and three.

Saravanan’s body was identified by his family yesterday. His elder brother, 33, said the deceased was a mild-mannered person who never fought with anyone.

Police retrieved Saravanan’s BMW out of a disused mining pool in Taman Maju Jaya, Puchong, following a public tip-off. His body was found in the boot of his car.

Police are probing if Saravanan’s death could be linked to the arrest of five men, aged between 27 and 43, in Kajang recently over another murder of a man found torched in his car in Hulu Langat on May 5.
