The PAS Disciplinary Committee Chairman Sanusi Daeng Mariok said the decision was made after careful deliberation on Husam’s case that also took into consideration the party’s interests and struggles.
“The PAS Disciplinary Committee, which convened on April 23, 2016, found Datuk Husam Musa had breached Clauses 82(1)(b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of the PAS Constitution,” Sanusi said in a statement today.
“Based on Clause 82(6)(d) of the PAS Constitution (2011 Amendment), the PAS Disciplinary Committee agreed to take disciplinary action against Datuk Husam Musa in the form of a dismissal from PAS effective from the date of the decision.”
Husam, a former PAS vice president, had criticised the party’s decisions by arguing that Islam allowed the people to demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Husam was also seen onstage at a programme organised by Parti Amanah Negara, a party made up of former PAS members, here last January.
Prior to being elected Salor assemblyman, Husam was MP for Kubang Kerian from 1999 to 2004.
He contested in Putrajaya in the 2013 General Election, but lost to Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor of Barisan Nasional.
He was also political secretary to former Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat in the 1990s.
