Umno president and Prime Minister Najib Razak had announced earlier today that Ahmad Razif would remain in his post, following public speculation of a change of leadership after he was stripped of royal honours and titles.
Ahmad Razif said today he was relieved that the doubts over his position were now behind him and that the speculation was over and done with.
He thanked Najib for having faith in him and for the party leader’s commitment to resolving the issue.
Ahmad Razif also urged the Terengganu state leaders to “keep moving forward” and keep fighting for the rakyat. “I believe that everything happens for a reason and there is always a lesson to be learnt,” he said.
Najib’s announcement came after an audience with the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, on Saturday.
