Johan Abdullah, the current Deputy Group Managing Director at the pilgrim’s fund, will replace the outgoing Ismee Ismail, as both the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In a statement today, TH announced Johan would take over the CEO’s role starting May 16, 2016.
“Datuk Johan Abdullah joined TH on January 15, 2015, as the Deputy Group Managing Director. Prior to that, he was Group Managing Dorector and CEO of BIMB Holdings Berhad.
“He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the Morehead State University in the United States, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Eastern Michigan, US.
“He has vast experience in corporate finance, capital markets and Islamic finance,” said the statement.
In recording his gratitude to the outgoing Ismee, the pilgrim’s fund chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said, “Under his (Ismee’s) leadership, TH garnered international recognition and respect.
“We would like to thank him for his contributions to the fund during the past 10 years.”
He said Ismee was successful in diversifying the fund’s investment portfolio and income, and added, “For the first time ever, TH recorded an income surpassing RM4 billion and profit after tax and zakat exceeded RM3 billion, for the financial year ending 31 December, 2015.”
According to Abdul Azeez, TH also accummulated a profit of more than RM18 billion between 2006 and 2015.
