Several incidents of students still being “possessed” were reported over the past three weeks, Star Online said.
The newspaper checked on all three secondary schools here – SMK Pengkalan Chepa 1, SMK Pengkalan Chepa 2 and SMK Kemumin.
Any students hit by hysteria are isolated at the resource centre (school library). This is to prevent other students from being affected and becoming hysterical.
Students of SMK Pengkalan Chepa 2 were said to have been allowed to leave school early on Tuesday after several female students suffered a hysteria attack.
Students at SMK Kemumin found hundreds of marbles in the school last week and this triggered another hysteria attack among several students.
SMK Pengkalan Chepa 2 was first hit by mass hysteria on April 12, affecting more than 100 students and teachers.
Over the next few days, three other schools – SMK Pengkalan Chepa 1, SMK Kemumin and SMK Kubang Kerian 3, all within a 5km radius – were affected.
The affected students, and even teachers, claim that they saw “pocong”, “pontianak” and a black spectre during the attacks and became unconscious.
Prayers have been held at these schools to “cleanse” them but the attacks continue.
The Education Department has claimed the situation is under control.
