“The people must understand that this unique formula is for their interest. They must make sure that these BN direct candidates win because they have got the best back-up,” he said, implying the government’s support for the latter.

He also lauded the camaraderie among BN component party members which had generated tolerance enabling “Tok Nan” (Chief Minister Adenan Satem) to apply the formula.

Speaking at a leader-people’s gathering at Rumah Panjang George in Nanga Nansang near here, he said the candidates had, by supporting the formula, also exhibited their love for BN.

“This tolerance among BN component parties, at the leadership and grassroot level, translates into prosperity in Sarawak.”

Present at the event was Pakan BN direct candidate William Mawan Ikom, who is also the incumbent assemblyman.

Meanwhile, Zahid also announced an allocation of RM200,000 for the construction of a new futsal court.

“The futsal court is for youths at Rumah Panjang George, Rumah Panjang Nyah, Rumah Panjang Chabu, Rumah Panjang Empati, Rumah Panjang Wing and Rumah Panjang Jampung in Nanga Nansang.”
