Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holder Tan Sze Keong, 18, and college student Lim Khoo Boo Kean, 19, were released on the bond in the sum of RM3,000.
The 17-year-old minor was released on a bond of good behaviour for two years in the sum of RM2,000.
Magistrate Atiqah Abdul Karim @ Husaini also imposed two additional conditions, namely the accused needed to attend counselling sessions with the Social Welfare Department every two months and should be at their family home before 10pm daily.
“The court gives you a second chance. You can continue your studies. I would like to remind the public, especially parents, to monitor the behavior of their children,” said Atiqah.
She said if the three accused breached the conditions, they could be sentenced, according to the original charge.
Tan, Lim and the minor allegedly forced two 15-year-old students to kneel on the road and lick the road surface to humiliate them behind a secondary school in Sea Park, Kelana Jaya here, about 1pm on Jan 29.
The charge, under Section 509 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Saphirra Selamat requested the court to impose appropriate punishment as a lesson to the three accused so that they would not repeat the offence.
Counsel Muhammad Syazwan Hasan urged the court to change the original sentence into a good behaviour bond, in view of the three accused being teenagers.
The recording of the bullying incident, involving the two male victims in their school uniforms was uploaded on Facebook and the 34-second recording went viral on social media.
