KOTA KINABALU:
A pro-BN non-governmental organisation alliance today lodged two police reports over alleged defamatory remarks made by certain individuals following the issuance of the Public Accounts Committee’s Report on 1MDB yesterday.

Its president, Zulkarnain Mahdar, said the first police report was made to ask police to investigate the statement made by former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan that the police had purposely arrested PKR Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli to prevent him from attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting when the PAC report was released yesterday.

“This is a terrible accusation made against the police and has been seen as an attempt to cause uneasiness among the people as the (video) clip on the matter had also been widely circulated via Facebook and WhatsApp,” he told reporters after lodging the report.

Zulkarnain said the second report asked police to investigate former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and other political leaders involved in signing the Mahathir declaration which claimed that Prime Minister Najib Razak was directly involved in the 1MDB issue.

Both reports were lodged at the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters at 10.32am.
