Rafizi not handcuffed, says IGP

PKR secretary-general appears in court with hands held behind his back as if he is in handcuffs.

PETALING JAYA:
Police have confirmed that Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli was not handcuffed during his detention, Star Online reported.

“Stop the accusations,” Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said via his official Twitter account @KBAB51 on Thursday.

He was commenting on social media comments on Rafizi being handcuffed.

The PKR vice-president and secretary-general was seen smiling broadly today as he walked with both his hands behind his back as though he was handcuffed as several policemen escorted him from the vehicle to the courtroom.

Rafizi was arrested in front of the Parliament’s gate at 6.20pm on Tuesday for investigations under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) over claims he made against the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT).

He was held overnight in a police lock-up.

He is under remand until Friday.
