Azmin said yesterday that the constituency was also often plagued with problems of cleanliness and security.
“As the elected representative has failed to perform in his area, the constituents are turning to the Member of Parliament for help, some even travel as far as Shah Alam to seek assistance from other assemblymen.
“As such we have appointed a coordinator for the constituency to implement whatever needs to be done here,” Azmin told reporters after opening a community service centre here.
According to him, the appointment of Azmizam Zaman Huri as Port Klang constituency coordinator was an important move to see to the people’s need for infrastructure development in the area.
Azmin also assured voters in the area that the state government would give priority to cleanliness and security, apart from providing more employment opportunities.
Khalid, formerly a senior member of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, was fired from the party in 2012 after refusing to resign as menteri besar. After a protracted crisis, Azmin, who is deputy president of PKR, was appointed by the Sultan of Selangor. Khalid remains an independent assemblyman.
