Yusof Apdal, who heads the Silam Umno division in Sabah, said it opposed any move to remove Najib as prime minister, The Star Online reported today.
Yusof said Malaysians had democratically chosen Najib to helm the country’s administration.
“We in Silam Umno stand behind the prime minister and his deputy and give them our undivided support so that they can continue to do what is best for our nation,” The Star Online reported.
Speaking after the Silam Umno meeting in Lahad Datu yesterday, Yusof said Umno had overcome many challenges because its members had given unwavering support to the leadership.
The Silam division has 50,383 members in 457 branches in the state constituencies of Lahad Datu, Kunak and Tungku.
