Najib rubbishes claim Johor Sultan snubbed him

Najib says people will label him crazy if he tries to shake the Sultan's hands too many times, especially after meeting him earlier.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Prime Minister Najib Razak said it was unnecessary for him to shake the hand of the Johor Sultan, especially after spending time with him earlier.

He said the Johor Sultan had waited for him at the palace where they had tea.

“I even sat in the car he drove and I spoke to him.

“So why should I ‘salam’ (shake hands) with him again? People will call me crazy,” he said to thunderous applause at the launching of Kelab Anak Felda at Menara Felda here today.

The Umno president said this when rubbishing claims that Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar had snubbed him.

This follows a video making its rounds on social media.

The video, titled “Sultan of Johor refuses to shake hands with Najib when Tuanku arrived at the Forest City 2016 launching ceremony”, sees Sultan Ibrahim shaking hands with the crowd but walking past Najib.
