PETALING JAYA:
The motion of no-confidence against Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif has been struck out by the State Assembly Speaker Mohd Zubir Embong.

This follows reports this morning that former Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Said tabled a motion of no-confidence against his successor, Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman, at the Terengganu state assembly.

Ahmad Said, who is Kijal assemblyman, tabled the motion while debating the motion of thanks on the Sultan of Terengganu’s speech, Berita Harian Online reported.

According to a report by The Star Online, Ahmad Said claimed that Razif’s administration had tried to ridicule him on matters relating to housing, among others.

Razif succeeded Ahmad in 2014 after the latter resigned following an agreement with Prime Minister Najib Razak that he would remain as the MB for only a year after Barisan Nasional retained the oil-rich state with a slim majority in the 13th General Election.
