IPOH: Police will continue to investigate an incident where a state assemblyman allegedly fired several shots into the air at a village in Hulu Perak even though the report was withdrawn.
State police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi said investigations into the incident, which occurred on Jan 19, had been completed.
“The firearm belongs to the assemblyman and it was sent to the state Forensics Department for chemical analysis, but the report has not come out,” he told reporters after the pinning-of-ranks ceremony at the police mess here today.
At the event, 11 police sergeant-majors were promoted to sub-inspectors and 39 sergeants to sergeant majors.
