PETALING JAYA: A war of words has erupted between two Umno members following the Friday suspension of Muhyiddin Yassin as deputy president of the party.

Upon learning that former Batu Kawan division vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan wished to lodge a report against Umno with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) over the suspension, Umno Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor questioned the former’s eligibility to do so since his membership was suspect.

Tengku Adnan, popularly known as Ku Nan, also described Khairuddin as “useless.”

Taking to Facebook to unleash his anger at Ku Nan, Khairuddin shot back, alleging that the title in Ku Nan’s name was fake as he was not of royal descent.

“Please explain to the 30 million Malaysians where you got your fake title. The reality is, Adnan Mansor is not very clever.

“Why is Adnan Mansor such an idiot? If I am not an Umno member, how did I contest for the Umno Batu Kawan division vice-chief post in 2014?”

Yesterday, Khairuddin announced through his Facebook account that he would lodge a report against Umno with the RoS on March 1, claiming that the supreme council was in breach of the party’s rules when they made the decision to suspend Muhyiddin as the party’s number two.

He also said the council had failed to respect the outcome of the last party polls where Muhyiddin had been officially elected to the post of deputy president.
