An executive committee member, Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, said the billboards showed that the Opposition party did not respect the law and the institution of the courts.

Anwar Ibrahim is serving a five-year jail sentence for sodomising a former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

“The billboards show that public money has been used for a political purpose,” he said when met at the Damansara Utama police station here.

Armand Azha said he also lodged a police report against the SelangorKini publication for allegedly reporting that Anwar was a political prisoner.

Last Monday, Selangor Umno also lodged a similar police report on the billboards at the Sungai Buloh police station.

The billboards are found in several areas, including Ampang Jaya, Kepong and Rawang.
