PETALING JAYA: PKR will resolve behind closed doors the “sibling’s quarrel” with Penang Chief Minister over the removal of two PKR assemblymen from state government-linked companies (GLCs).

PKR Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli said he would send a letter to Lim Guan Eng on the matter today.

“It is better that a sibling’s quarrel be brought to a closed-door discussion.

“I think it is better to discuss the matter in the Pakatan Harapan presidential council. The sensitivities of the public need to be accounted for,” he told a press conference today.

PKR Deputy President Mohamed Azmin Ali had on Sunday lambasted the Penang state government over the removal of PKR assemblymen Cheah Kah Peng and Ong Chin Wen. Cheah was sacked from his position in Penang Hill Corporation and Ong from investPenang and Island Golf Properties Bhd.

This came after the duo abstained from voting against a land reclamation motion put forward by Umno last November.

Lim hit back at Azmin, who is also Selangor Menteri Besar, asking him to not meddle in Penang state affairs. He said any issues arising should be handled in private under the Pakatan Harapan concept.

Rafizi said the matter was not as serious as it was made out to be as both state leaders were only replying to questions from the media.

“I understand what happened. When the media asks, Lim Guan Eng has to answer. When the media asks Datuk Seri Azmin, he has to answer as well.”
