The PKR Wanita Chief said that if these same members chose to remain with the party despite having no posts in the local council, this would prove their loyalty to the party.
Zuraida acknowledged that there was some discontent among its members arising from the situation, but said the party could “not make everyone happy.”
“We simply can’t fulfil everybody’s needs. But we can value a member’s loyalty through this,” the Ampang lawmaker told a press conference.
Earlier this month, eight local council seats were allocated to Amanah – the PAS splinter group – for two terms.
It is understood that PKR had given up most of their posts to accommodate Amanah.
On a related matter, PKR information chief Shuhaimi Shafie clarified that “technical issues” were to blame for DAP’s Dr Abdul Aziz Bari’s name being left out of the councillor’s list.
Aziz who is also a constitutional expert, was expected to be appointed as a councillor for Ampang Jaya, in preparation to be named as a candidate in the next general election.
Shuhaimi stressed that the technical glitch was “normal” and denied any attempts to eliminate anyone.
