SHAH ALAM: Pakatan Harapan cannot just offer hope, but must become a coalition that could truly be an alternative for the people, said DAP delegate Wan Hamidi Hamid at the coalition’s leadership conference here.

Harapan means hope in Malay.

Wan Hamidi warned the new coalition to work towards rehabilitating the economy as the people were now feeling the pinch, including Umno and Barisan Nasional grassroots.

Pakatan should not merely criticise the ruling coalition without presenting any solutions. “BN is good at attacking us, but if we do the same people will say we are no different from BN.”

Wan Hamidi said the opposition must offer a better narrative otherwise it would be difficult to move forward.
