PETALING JAYA: Over 600 Bersatu members from a division in Terengganu quit the party today and joined Umno, with many more expected to follow suit.
Former Bersatu Rantau Panjang coordinator Anwar Rosli said these members had become disillusioned with the Bersatu leadership in the area, claiming that their well-being had been ignored and promises were left unfulfilled, Bernama reported.
“After taking into account the current political situation, these members feel that they have been alienated by the leadership here,” he said, adding that Umno had come to their aid.
