PETALING JAYA:
This coming weekend, why not make a trip to Tropicana Gardens Mall for a taste of something Japanese for a change?

Pan Pacific Retail Management (Malaysia) has just opened its second Jonetz by Don Don Donki outlet here, offering customers a fascinating experience in all things Japanese – snacks, ready-to-eat meals, skincare, household items, beauty products and everything else under the sun.

This latest outlet is even bigger that the one at Lot 10 in Bukit Bintang – a whole one-and-a-half times bigger, to be exact.

Jonetz by Don Don Donki in Tropicana Gardens Mall is currently the largest in the country, spanning over 3,924 square metres across two levels.

“Jonetz” refers to their store’s house brand Jonetsu Kakaku which means “passionate” in Japanese – so it should come as no surprise that all products are fully imported from the Land of the Rising Sun.

Jonetz by Don Don Donki in Tropicana Gardens Mall is the first outlet in Selangor and officially opened its doors on Dec 10 at 10am. The store is located on Level CC and Level G of the mall and is open from 10am till 12am every single day of the year.

The Tropicana Gardens outlet has introduced a dine-in area on the second floor so customers can enjoy their meals at the outlet itself. So be sure to come on an empty stomach to enjoy the wide selection of sushi, bento and sashimi here.

Don’t forget to save room for dessert as Don Don Donki offers a mouth-watering variety of Parfaits, Cream Daifuku, soft serve and many more.

The outlet also features a row of stalls selling Japanese street food of every kind imaginable. This section is derived from the Japanese “yatai” concept or mobile food stalls similar to those found at the local pasar malam here.

The Signature Baked Sweet Potato or “Yaki-Imo” is a big hit and definitely worth sampling.

Similar to the Lot 10 outlet, this store features a halal corner as well, this time stocked with even more Muslim-friendly products like the halal Japan A5 Wagyu beef that is not to be missed.

The store even sells the Jonetsu Kakaku Horse Oil Shampoo EX & Conditioner EX which is said to repair badly damaged hair.

Other favourites include the anti-slip Diatomaceous Earth Bath Mat that, it is claimed, dries in just one minute. This product can be found in the Home and Living section on the second floor.
