AnCasa Residences Port Dickson general manager Nazrul Nasihin said the effort would help the resort generate much needed income for its survival, besides supporting its operating costs.
The hotel has fallen on hard times since the pandemic hence the introduction of the drive-thru service at the main lobby launched last Friday.
“We offer a variety of food including traditional Negeri Sembilan dishes such as ‘masak lemak cili api’. Prices range from RM5 to RM16 and the stalls are open every day from 11 am to 6 pm,” Nazrul told Bernama.
He explained that the drive-thru concept was ideal as the resort was strategically located near the main road, making it easy for customers to drive right in and grab a meal.
Nazrul said customers have the option of placing orders beforehand via Facebook or at the resort’s website. Alternatively, they can simply drive over to the lobby compound and make an order.
“There’s no hassle of getting out of their vehicles to buy food. Just place an order and wait in your car at the allocated parking spaces,” he said.
“Alhamdulillah, on normal days we can generate between RM300 and RM450 per day while on weekends our sales can reach up to RM1,500 per day,” Nazrul said.
A customer, Aley Suhaimi, 39, loved the concept, saying it was now so easy to purchase takeaways quickly and be on one’s way. The drive-thru concept also meant there was less close interaction with others.
“It is very convenient because we don’t have to wait with so many people in the restaurant and they also provide us with free drinks while waiting for our orders,” she said.
