To that end, Malaysian skincare company, Tanamera, has created a sensory beauty experience called “Campur2 by Tanamera”, through which you can curate your own scrubs, massage oils, and essential oils.
You can even touch and smell these natural and raw tropical ingredients before choosing the ones most suited to your skin type.
Among these ingredients are green tea, ginger, aloe vera, jasmine, peppermint, lavender, and rose. A representative will guide you on the benefits of each ingredient and offer personalised recommendations.
The ‘Campur2’ experience

At the “Kita Semua Campur2” workshop held for the media over the weekend at Hétam café, participants experienced first-hand, the process of making body scrubs and essential oils.
During the body scrub-making session, participants concocted two kinds of scrubs – a dry scrub suitable for those with dry skin or suffering from eczema, and a wet scrub for toning, slimming, and detoxifying purposes.
Himalayan rock salt, a rice mix, honey and coconut powder as well as lemongrass essential oil were used to make these scrubs.

Meanwhile, learning how to blend essential oils was another delightful session – and needless to say, an aromatic one!
Using rose, orange, and frankincense, participants concocted three bottles of oils that promote relaxation and can uplift one’s mood.
Although such products can be easily bought off the shelves, there is nothing quite like enjoying a scrub or inhaling a bottle of oil you created yourself.
Speaking to FMT, founders and siblings Faridah Ahmad Fadzil, 57, and Mohamad Faisal Ahmad Fadzil, 52, shared the inspiration and vision behind “Campur2 by Tanamera”.
Faridah said that when she was in her twenties, her mother taught her how to mix various ingredients for body scrubs, masks, and massage oils.
“That’s how the idea for ‘Campur2’ came about as I thought: why not go back to the basics? After all, not everyone can find suitable products for their skin in the market,” she said.
Faisal added that the concept of mixing one’s own ingredients for the beauty products they use, is to teach them “how to slow down a bit and make sense of what they are doing and why they were doing it”.

Faridah said they hoped the Campur2 experience would attract the younger generation and not only pregnant women or those who had just given birth.
“We hope to engage the younger generation through their sense of curiosity,” she said, adding that their existing customer base is 25 years old and above.
Currently, the “Campur2 by Tanamera” experience is available at five Tanamera outlets located in Bangsar Village 2, Sunway Pyramid, The Starling, Central Market, and The Gardens.
However, Faridah shared that they are aiming to launch a store of their own for “Campur2” by the first quarter of next year.
Carrying approximately 50 ingredients at present under the ‘Campur2’ banner, the siblings hope to expand this to 80 ingredients. They are also working on new products such as foot soaks and bath bombs in time for their store’s launch.
“I hope that everything that our customers make will be reflective of who they are,” she said, explaining that some ingredients will appeal to those who have a “sweet” nature while others have a stronger smell more suited for feisty personalities.
“It’s about a sense of individuality and that’s what I hope customers will take away from the ‘Campur2’ experience,” she said.
