Are you on the lookout for a hearty serving of Chinese-style meats to fulfill your cravings? If you are, one place you should check out is Good Taste Char Siew, at the relatively new commercial area known as Eco Ardence in Setia Alam.

As it turns out, the eatery was previously located at another part of this township in Shah Alam, but recently moved to this new spot.

Its menu is a one-page affair with the usual offerings – roast chicken, duck and pork (siew yoke); lap cheong (Chinese sausage); loh bak; sour-spicy vegetable (chai boey); braised chicken feet; and, of course, the titular char siew (BBQ pork).

You can pair these with a plate of white rice, or wantan noodles if you prefer. The restaurant also offers a selection of readymade dishes such as curry chicken.

The meat at Good Taste is right up there, with the siew yoke skin crispy and succulent, the flesh well-roasted. The char siew, too, is yummy and balanced in terms of fat-to-lean-meat ratio, while the lap cheong will not disappoint, either.

That said, you can find slightly better siew yoke at Wong Mei Kee in Pudu; better char siew at Spring Golden in Taman Sri Muda; and better sour-spicy veg at Peng Heong Hakka Pai Kut in Klang.

Still, if you happen to be in Setia Alam, or wish to enjoy all three dishes at the same time with 80-90% of the quality of the latter three establishments, Good Taste is the place to be.
