There are rumours that there are over 400 bak kut teh restaurants in Klang alone, so there is definitely a lot of sampling to be done.
However, for the uninitiated, the Teluk Pulai bak kut teh shop at Taman Intan (the commercial area right after Federal Highway Sungai Rasau toll with the big Maybank building) is perhaps one of the most famous bak kut teh restaurants in Klang.
People often recommend this particular brand to those who want a proper taste of “Klang bak kut teh”. Based on this alone, the original shop is definitely worth a visit.

Teluk Pulai Bak Kut Teh is located in the middle of a row of shops flanked by two other bak kut teh restaurants.
Seating is a combination of indoor and semi-outdoor arrangements, and like most bak kut teh establishments in Klang, there are plenty of kettles for tea-making purposes stacked inside this restaurant.
Foodwise, those who can never finish a portion for two can order a 1½ portion of clay pot bak kut teh with kah wan (leg joints), small intestines and pork stomach. A dry version is also available.

To be honest, the food here tastes pretty much exactly like the branch at Taman Intan. The soup base has a pretty decent herbal taste and is well-balanced, with the meat soft and the fat very tender.
There’s also tofu pok, button mushroom, and a bit of green presence in the clay pot, but that’s the beauty of Klang bak kut teh as they have different presentations and choices of ingredients.
For condiments, you get garlic, chili padi, and as many fried shallots as you want to sprinkle on top of the oily rice, which makes for a pretty satisfying brunch overall.
They’re also very generous in giving customers more soup to top up the clay pot, so if you love slurping down that delicious herbal nectar, this bak kut teh would not disappoint.
