The new GSC officially launched on Dec 9 and boasts 1,717 seats, including six special halls that aim to provide audiences with a next-level cinematic experience.

Onyx Cinema LED with Dolby Atmos

The Onyx Cinema offers visuals in 4K and distortion-free High Dynamic Range (HDR) picture quality, combined with Dolby Atmos immersive and atmospheric surround sound.

The LED screen is said to provide peak brightness and “infinite contrast”, making movies pop with deeper blacks and more vivid colours.

MX4D

The MX4D is a sensory experience with moving seats that sync with the film, and special generators that add environmental effects such as light, wind, water, scents, fog, and much more.

These allow the audience to feel like they are part of the movie – though GSC staff joke that this might cause your popcorn to go flying everywhere.

GSC BIG with Dolby Atmos

The GSC BIG is a “premium large format” and the biggest screen the chain has to offer, filling the cinema from ceiling to floor to provide audiences with an absolutely incredible viewing experience.

The hall is capable of accommodating up to 300 viewers in its plush leatherette seats, but with SOPs in place they are currently only able to accommodate half that number.

This is the only location to offer GSC BIG, although other branches are looking to introduce this hall in the near future.

PlayPlus Family halls

GSC at Tropicana Gardens Mall has two PlayPlus family halls, which feature an indoor play area at the front for kids to enjoy themselves during the film, as well as a lounge area for families to wait in before the movie begins.

Unlike other halls, the PlayPlus family theatres have lower screen volume and brighter lighting throughout the movie to allow parents to keep an eye on their children while they play.

GSC Premiere

The cinema offers one GSC Premiere hall with only twin seating throughout. Reclining seats, blankets for your comfort, and in-hall service for food and drink will add to your viewing pleasure.

There is also a waiting area outside where the audience can relax before the film begins.

Aside from popcorn and the usual array of snacks and beverages, this GSC outlet offers cinemagoers hot oden as well as pastries, which include their moist and chewy muffins.
