ISKANDAR PUTERI:
Planning a day out in Johor’s Iskandar Puteri? This fast-growing destination has something for everyone – from snowy adventures to adrenaline-fuelled sports and tranquil waterfront strolls.

Here are six spots to explore the next time you’re in Medini.

1. Legoland Malaysia

The crown jewel of Iskandar Puteri, Legoland Malaysia Resort is Southeast Asia’s first Lego-themed park – a mix of fun, imagination and adventure that appeals to both kids and adults.

Inside, you’ll find over 40 rides, shows and attractions spread across eight themed zones. At the heart of the park is Miniland, where millions of Lego bricks recreate Asia’s most iconic landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, Angkor Wat, and Singapore’s skyline.

For something wetter, the water park next door offers 20 slides, a wave pool and a build-your-own raft lazy river, with tickets starting from RM149.

The 1-day Theme Park ticket starts from RM199 (adult) and RM169 (child/senior) for Malaysians, and is the most popular option among visitors.

Children under age three enter for free, though swim diapers are required for the water park.

2. SnowLand JB

Tired of the heat? Step into sub-zero temperatures at SnowLand JB in the Mall of Medini – Johor’s first indoor snow park.

Inside, you’ll find slippery ice slides, sparkling sculptures, and even simulated snowfall for that winter-holiday feel.

Tickets start from RM34.90 for kids and RM44.90 for adults, while seniors and toddlers often enter for free. Jackets are provided at the door, while boots and gloves can be rented for a small fee.

The park opens from 11am-9pm on weekdays and 10am-10pm on weekends, with the temperature kept at a frosty -10°C. So layer up and bring socks!

3. SEA LIFE Malaysia

For a calmer change of pace, head next door to SEA LIFE Malaysia, a two-storey aquarium that’s part of the Legoland resort but ticketed separately. It features 11 themed zones and houses over 13,000 marine creatures from 120 species.

Families can stroll through the 360° ocean tunnel, where reef sharks and rays glide overhead, or check out the Rainforest River and Sunken Shipwreck exhibits.

Kids will love the Rockpools area, where they can gently touch starfish under staff supervision.

Single-entry tickets are RM89 (adults) and RM69 (children/senior citizens), with opening hours from 10am-6pm daily (last entry at around 5pm).

4. X Park Sunway Iskandar

If you prefer the outdoors – and a dose of adrenaline – head to X Park Sunway Iskandar, Malaysia’s first extreme sports park.

The sprawling 13ha complex is packed with activities ranging from go-karts and ATVs to paintball, archery and rock climbing.

Basic activities start as low as RM20 for target shooting or archery. Go-Kart or ATV rides are priced at RM30-RM80, while high-ropes and flying-fox courses range from RM40 to RM80.

The park also sells combo packages, like “3-in-1 Adventure Bundles”, that mix multiple rides for a discounted rate.

Safety instructors and gear are included, so it’s suitable for beginners, too. And if you’re up for a weekend adventure, X Park even offers on-site chalets and lakeside lodging from about RM240 per night.

5. Sireh Park

For a break from the buzz, unwind at Sireh Park, Iskandar Puteri’s own 138ha green escape. The park combines manicured gardens, lakes and forested trails, making it ideal for jogs, picnics or a slow walk with the family.

There’s also a nursery and an edufarm, where kids can interact with animals and learn about local plants.

Nature lovers will find plenty to appreciate, from hilltop lookout points to over 30 recorded bird species fluttering around the wetlands. It’s one of Johor’s best spots for a budget-friendly breather.

Entry is free, and visitors can book extra activities like kayaking, cycling or camping for a small fee.

6. Puteri Harbour

Families can stroll along the boardwalk, while couples might prefer a quiet meal at Hard Rock Café or one of the al fresco spots by the water.

As evening falls, the marina lights up with live music, weekend markets and stunning views of the Straits of Johor. Just bring your camera, order a drink, and enjoy the sunset turning the sky cotton-candy pink.
