KUALA LUMPUR:  The countdown begins for “Raaja Rhapsody”, the biggest concert by celebrated composer Ilaiyaraaja ever held in the country.

With only a week left, excitement is building as fans prepare to enjoy a full-fledged orchestra featuring over 60 accomplished musicians from Budapest, Hungary and India, all coming together for a night of stellar music at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil here on April 5.

This marks Ilaiyaraaja’s first concert following the completion of his “Symphony No. 1” with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, making him the first Indian composer to achieve this milestone.

“Raaja Rhapsody” will feature a power lineup of singers including Karthik, SPB Charan, Yugendran Vasudevan, and Madhubalakrishnan, who will bring the maestro’s compositions to life on stage.

The event includes a selection of songs that have never before been performed in Ilaiyaraaja’s live shows, as well as a mashup session – the first of its kind in the composer’s concert history!
