If just reading this has got you craving for some, make a beeline to Lloyd’s Pizza at SS15, Subang Jaya.
Here, apart from the usual suspects – Hawaiian and Margherita – you can find pizza toppings with your favourite spicy Asian flavours as well.
“I wanted to do something different and introduce more local flavours,” the establishment’s founder, Lloyd Anthony, told FMT Lifestyle.
These include a mutton curry pizza and another he named “The Devil” because of its spicy, red chicken devil curry topping.

“The recipe for the chicken devil curry is almost 200 years old and was inherited from my great grandmother. She passed it down to my grandmother who taught my mother,” revealed 42-year-old Anthony, whose father is Portuguese Dutch.
“Everything here is made from scratch, from the dough to the sauce,” he added.
Anthony, formerly a telco engineer, started Lloyd’s Pizza in 2019 at Tiara Kelana Condominium in Petaling Jaya. It was limited to takeaways and delivery.
He branched out to Subang Jaya in November last year so patrons can dine in for their meals. The eatery, located on the first floor of a shop lot, has a cosy and bright ambiance, perfect whether you’re looking to enjoy a quiet meal on your own or with family and friends.

The mutton curry pizza is a scrumptious fusion of East meets West. The crust is light, making it the perfect carrier for the mutton curry. Cooked in-house, the meat is tender and piquant with just the right amount of spice. Topped with cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes and onions, this is a must-try for all mutton lovers.

“The Devil” sounds like pure evil, but take one bite, and you’ll be hooked! The juicy chicken chunks pair beautifully with the onions and aged mozzarella, and you may just find yourself sighing in delight – not horror.
If you’re feeling somewhat bold, why not take on “The Lucifer” – a combination of mutton curry pizza and “The Devil”!
There is also “Rocky”, a healthier yet still delightful combination of grilled chicken breast, aged mozzarella, spinach, onions and roasted cherry tomatoes.
“I’m a big fan of the movie, Rocky. So, I thought for gym enthusiasts, this would be a good choice on their cheat days,” shared Anthony.

The spaghetti pesto, served with either chicken or prawns, is another delicious dish here. The pesto sauce, made in-house, is the highlight of the dish as it has a lovely umami taste.
The tiger prawns are fresh and juicy, making this a simple yet lip smacking meal. Alternatively, instead of spaghetti, you may opt for penne.

Think vegetarian dishes are boring and bland? The Penne Primavera will prove otherwise. Homey and comforting, each piece of penne is coated in cream and a Napolitana sauce for a pleasant tanginess. If you’re not a fan of penne, request for spaghetti instead.

Before leaving, order some panna cotta. Made in-house, each bite is velvety, light and decadent. Topped with biscoff for texture and sweetness with lovely hints of spice, this is one luxurious and memorable dessert.
And there you have it – the best Italian fare, some with an Asian twist, at Lloyd’s Pizza.
