Inny’s on a mission to get the most cuddles and kisses

Once a street cat, Inny is now on a mission to shower her ‘mom’ Rebecca with love and affection every chance she gets.

Now here’s a cat out to dispel every negative comment ever made about cats. Because contrary to popular belief, not all felines are loners who are boring, selfish and despise being played with or cuddled.

Some, like the affectionate Inny, just live for cuddles and kisses all day and aren’t ashamed to admit it. Ask Rebecca Welch, who is more than happy to confirm it.

She said that every time she relaxes on her couch, Inny materialises out of nowhere, gently landing on her lap, waiting patiently for a cuddle or two.

“There was a stray cat that gave birth outside my house. I think it knew I was a cat lover from the many cats that visit my house, so she left her kitten, and I named it Inny,” Rebecca told FMT.

She added that when Inny was still young, her mother would roam near her home just to ‘check’ on her baby. However, once satisfied

that Inny was receiving the love she needed, the mother cat stopped dropping by.

A picture of cuteness, Inny is rather intelligent and willing to prove it. How else can one explain why she is obsessed with crossword puzzles, staring intently at the boxes every time Rebecca works on one?

Inny also believes that phone conversations should be kept short and sweet and should Rebecca spend too long on a call, Inny will flash a ‘look’ that sends a clear message. Rebecca said that when this happens, she cuts the call and gives Inny a cuddle. As far as Inny is concerned, it’s ‘mission accomplished’!

While she loves Rebecca with all her heart, Inny is wary of guests who drop by. Dashing to the kitchen for cover, she will spy on them before slowly venturing out to test the waters.

And once she’d made up her mind that she likes them, she’ll slap on the affection fast and thick, rubbing her cheeks and body against their legs, cleverly ‘marking’ them as hers and waiting for cuddles and pats in return.

In her spare time, Inny works on perfecting her many cat poses – brooding, astonished, jovial, devious – ready to whip into action whenever she sees a phone pointed at her, waiting for the ‘click’ sound to signal it is over.

And when she’s not perfecting her art, she’s busy err… being a busybody. Rebecca said that every time she hears strange noises in the kitchen, she knows Inny is up to mischief either stealing food or walking on the countertops, knocking objects to the floor.

An amiable cat, Inny gets along famously with the other three at home, never showing any jealousy when the others are petted. In fact, she’s even happy to play with the kittens from time to time.

An animal lover, Rebecca said she strongly advocates adopting over buying a pet, especially since there are so many strays in need of good homes. Plus, they make great companions too.

“I’m so happy I didn’t send any of my cats to the shelter. Life wouldn’t have been the same without them.

“And imagine not having a spoiled cat like Inny by your side? When you stay alone in a big house, having a cat crave your attention makes you feel so loved and worthy of yourself,” she said.
