Busy weekday leaving you with almost no time to put dinner on the table? Don’t fret because a lip-smacking, nutritious and super easy recipe for chicken made with honey and balsamic vinegar is coming right up.
This dish is delightful for so many reasons, but mostly because of its simple yet complex flavour profile.
The spicy kick of balsamic vinegar is tempered by the rich sweetness of honey while the crisp skin of the chicken adds texture to this one-pan dish.
Ingredients
- 680 g chicken thighs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 dashes ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- Chopped parsley for garnishing
Method
- Season the chicken with the salt and ground black pepper.
- Place a frying pan on medium heat and slowly pan-fry the chicken, skin side down first, until both sides are nicely browned and crisp. Remove the chicken and discard the chicken fat.
- Put the olive oil and butter into the skillet and sauté the garlic until lightly browned. Add the honey, balsamic vinegar and water. Combine these well.
- Put the chicken back into the pan, lower the heat to simmer and reduce the sauce until slightly thickened and the chicken is completely cooked, about two minutes.
- Remove from the heat, garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
