If you find yourself at Thong Lo, an upscale area in Bangkok with quirky cafes and rows of Japanese restaurants, Khao Jao Thai Restaurant is worth making a stop at.
It is a modern eatery serving mostly traditional Thai fare that is worth your while.

The restaurant is located along Thong Lo 17 Alley, a stone’s throw away from a popular hipster watering hole called The Commons.
It’s air-conditioned, tastefully decorated, and offers quite a good selection of traditional Thai dishes. Needless to say, you’ll be left scratching your head as to what to order as everything looks too good to pass up.
If you need help in deciding what to order, then try the prawns with petai, bamboo shoots yellow curry, a plate of vegetable (anything of your choice), and a stuffed omelet.
The petai dish is truly delicious, with rather big and juicy prawns thrown in. The taste of belacan is strong and slightly sweet but the dish is also spicy, making it a perfect combination of spice and heat.
The yellow curry bamboo shoot has a slight sourish note to it that goes well with rice but requires some getting used to.
This is one place you will definitely not hesitate to eat at again and again.
