From Sept 6 to Sept 16, the shopping mall will be playing host to the world’s biggest book sale, the Big Bad Wolf book sale (the Wolf). It is open to the public from 10am to 12am daily.
Admission is free and visitors can pick up books at extremely low prices, with 75% to even 95% discounts off retail prices.
Best known for its incredibly affordable prices, the Wolf is decked up to bring all genres of books ranging from fiction, non-fiction to self-help guides with the aim of fulfilling the book lovers’ ultimate dream.
One of the highly anticipated items at the Wolf sale in Ipoh this year is the Magical Book series.
A preschool learning series suited for children aged one to five, these books use cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) technology to revolutionise reading for the next generation.
Aside from international publishers, more than 40 local publishers are joining in the latest
Big Bad Wolf book sale.
Publishers like Kualiti Books, Sasbadi, PTS and Pelangi are bringing in educational titles at discounted prices while Buku Fixi, Lejen Press, DuBook Press and Iman Publications will be featuring local novels for sale.
This year, the Wolf Ipoh will be collaborating with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kasih Nurul Iman Negeri Perak and Teach for Malaysia to inculcate the reading habit.
Targeting toddlers to teenagers, the book sale kick-starts the initiative by donating 200 books to young readers from these organisations.
Visitors too can play a vital role in helping the less fortunate by purchasing and donating books at the Red Readerhood corner during the sale.
Other than books, visitors can also purchase the Big Bad Wolf fridge magnets, button badges and T-shirts at the merchandise corner.
Shutterbugs and Instagrammers will also have much to do, as there will be a creative photo contest with cash voucher rewards and an ultimate grand prize.
Just snap a photo at the hall and upload the photo to your Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #BBWIPOHSELFIE2019 and #BBWIPOHBOOKHAUL2019 within the sale period.
You will then stand a chance to win a Big Bad Wolf book sale cash voucher worth RM50 exclusively for five winners daily plus you get to fill a trolley with as many books as you can carry for the Grand Prize.
Over the past decade, the Big Bad Wolf book sale has left its mark in many Asian countries.
Offering a wide range of brand-new books across all genres at low prices, the Wolf has the primary aim of encouraging people of all ages to discover the joy of affordable, accessible reading.
