Sate Lilit by BumbuBali: Too good to put down

Made up of blended chicken, prawns and fish mixed with a pre-bought satay spice mix, these are truly delicious when grilled right.

Lip-smacking Sate Lilit is surprisingly easy to make.

If you’ve been to Bali, you’d know the wonders the cooks there can do with the simplest of ingredients.

For Malaysian Eddy Tan, he wanted to share his experience and also his love for food. Here’s a recipe for one of BumbuBali’s must-haves – the absolutely lip-smacking Sate Lilit.

Ingredients:

• Chicken meat 1.3kg
• Prawns 400gm
• Dory fillet 1.3kg
• Rempah sate (satay spice mix) 800gm
• Grated coconut 200gm
• Lemongrass stems (used as satay stick) – as many as needed

Method

• Blend together dory fillet, chicken meat and prawns till paste-like.
• Once done, place the mixture in a bowl and mix well with the rempah sate and grated coconut.
• Then, take 50gm of the blended mixture and wrap around one lemongrass stem.
• Grill to perfection.
