KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-songwriter Yunalis Zarai, or Yuna, has been officially engaged to local director Adam Yousof Mohamed Sinclair.

According to a statement by Yuna Room Records, the engagement ceremony at the artiste’s parents’ home in Shah Alam, Selangor, today, was attended only by family members and close friends.

The 30-year-old singer, who is based in the United States, described the engagement as a beautiful moment in her life and that she was grateful to have met a very loving and kind person like Adam Yousof, 32.

“We are happy to host Adam’s family in our home. I would like to thank all the fans for their well wishes and prayers.

“God’s arrangement is so beautiful, Adam is my best friend, and during our friendship, he brought so much joy and laughter to my life and I’m happy that I’ll be his wife someday, God willing,” she said.

Yuna, who has a duet with R&B superstar Usher in the track ‘Crush’, first met Adam Yousof, who is the brother of actor Ashraf Sinclair and celebrity host Aishah Sinclair, at a recording for a television commercial in early 2013 before they started dating in 2015.

The ‘merisik’ ceremony was held on March 27, 2017.
