K-drama star Kim Woo Bin diagnosed with throat cancer

The star will be focusing on having treatment for a while, says his agency Sidus HQ.

K-drama star Kim Woo Bin has been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, his agency Sidus HQ said on Wednesday,

Nasopharyngeal cancer affects the nasopharynx, which is the upper part of the throat, behind the nose.

According to a report in The Star, the 27-year-old Korean drama star recently visited a doctor and found out that he had nasopharyngeal cancer (throat cancer).

“He started receiving drug treatment and radiation therapy,” his agency said.

The star of the Korean dramas The Heirs (2013) and Vampire Idol (2011) would be focusing on having treatment for a while, Sidus HQ said.

According to the report, Kim was preparing to start filming the upcoming movie tentatively titled “Docheong”.

The production team of the film said it would wait for him to return in good health before starting to film the movie.
