Jentayu-owned hospital’s licence revoked due to non-compliance of operating procedures

Ohana Specialist Hospital has been served the notice on April 5.

Jentayu Sustainables Bhd acquired Ohana Specialist Hospital in February 2022, which it manages via subsidiary Ultimate Forte Sdn Bhd.
PETALING JAYA:
Jentayu Sustainables Bhd announced that Ohana Specialist Hospital has been closed temporarily as its licence was revoked due to non-compliance of mandated operating procedures.

The hospital was served the notice on April 5, with all patients safely transferred to other medical facilities before its closure.

Jentayu acquired the hospital in February 2022. It is managed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Ultimate Forte Sdn Bhd.

“Ohana Specialist Hospital has engaged the necessary advisers, including legal counsel, to facilitate an appeal within the prescribed period of 30 days to overturn the decision via a direct appeal to the health minister.

“The hospital will take advantage of this closure period to introduce greater rigour and stringency in its compliance assessments to improve the operating procedures to comply with the government standards and ensure a safe environment for patients,” it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

The hospital represents 7.66% of total assets as of Dec 31, 2022, Jentayu said.

The hospital is also expected to be a minor contributor to the group’s future income with the bulk of its income expected to be derived from its renewable energy assets.

Jentayu added that the group is undergoing a transitional year as the injection of the proposed renewable energy assets are only expected to be completed in the second half of financial year 2024.
