
This is in addition to the RM50 million approved by the state government earlier this month.
The funds, to be disbursed through various ministries in the form of monetary aid, will benefit those in agriculture, tourism (guides, porters, divemasters) and transport (taxi, bus, lorry) as well as hawkers, orphans and single mothers, among others.
Hajiji, who is also Sulaman assemblyman, said that of this amount, RM1 million would be channelled through universities to help its students who are affected by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, he also announced the establishment of the Sabah Economic Council to discuss the way forward on the state’s economic recovery.
He said the members of the council to be announced soon would comprise captains of industries, businessmen, NGOs and academicians.
